Issues
Anant believes that elected officials must listen first, act second. He is committed to being accessible, transparent, and engaged with all 60,000 residents in District 7.
The Cost of Living & Affordability
We stand amidst an affordability crisis that threatens our community and is squeezing out the middle class.
As your legislator, Anant will fight the cost-of-living crisis by:
Using his extensive financial experience to ensure every taxpayer dollar is used efficiently and prudently.
Expanding investment in affordable housing, one of the main drivers of the affordability crisis in Westchester.
Supporting the County’s lawsuit against ConEd to control the unaffordable and insane delivery charges and defeat price-gouging.
Investing in renewable energy to ensure a stable, clean, and affordable energy supply.
Westchester County has a $2.5 billion annual budget for its over 1 million residents. Every dollar must be spent wisely. As a member of the Town and School Boards, he fought to reduce taxes, eliminate wasteful spending, and prioritize essential services. He will do the same for Westchester. He will fight to ensure District 7 gets its fair share of county resources to address flooding, housing, and critical local services like the Mamaroneck CRC and Rye YMCA.
Flooding
Having experienced three major floods in his own home, Anant understands firsthand the devastation flooding brings. He knows that no single municipality can solve this alone, which is why he is committed to working collaboratively for real progress.
As your County Legislator, Anant will:
Work with the state and county to ensure stable funding of flooding projects, including those threatened by cuts to federal funding.
Work with communities to ensure smart development that reduces, not exacerbates, the crisis.
Generate sustainable solutions to the climate crisis, which has compounded the scale of the flooding problem.
Civic Engagement and Community
Local government works best when it listens. Anant wants to inspire more residents to get involved in decision-making because better solutions come from diverse ideas and perspectives. He will hold regular community meetings and share monthly newsletters in multiple languages to hear concerns, answer questions, and explain decisions—because government should work for the people. Anant understands that it’s never possible for everyone to agree, but he promises to always explain his reasoning so voters know where he stands and why.
Representation Matters. If elected, Anant would be the first South Asian and Indian American on the Westchester County Board of Legislators. This would be a historic step forward in ensuring that every resident feels heard, valued, and represented.
